Wellbeing

Building strong relationships with our tamariki and whānau is the key to well-being at Bluff School. We aim to support all our learners. After school care is available onsite and is run by Awarua Whānau Services

Breakfast Club

It is important to us at Bluff School that children are fuelled for learning in the morning. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. We realise that families are busy in the morning and we provide breakfast for children at school from 8.20am every morning. We have excellent support from our parent group with this programme.

Lunches in Schools

We are part of the Government’s free lunches in schools scheme. There is no cost for this service to our whānau.

Fruit in Schools

We provide free fruit for our students in school. Each day class get given seasonal fruit to eat during brain breaks in class. This helps with their learning in the classroom.

Social Workers in Schools

We have the services of a social worker (who works for Barnados) for a few days a week. Our social worker is available to work with children who need assistance in dealing with a whole range of issues from changes / relationships at home, grief and loss, social or self-esteem issues, behavioural concerns. Please let us know if you would like your child to use this service and we will see what we can arrange.
